We’re thrilled to share the positive impact of Volta Air Technology Inc. electric reefer units at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB). We’ve been working closely with the GVFB to equip their food delivery vehicles with our electric refrigeration units, funded by a federal government grant program since January 2020.
It has been two and a half years since the units were installed, and GVFB continues to have a positive experience with our entirely Canadian-manufactured reefer units!
This project showcases the benefits of electric reefer units in several key areas
- Fuel Savings: The GVFB has significantly reduced its reliance on diesel fuel by utilizing solar and electric power, resulting in substantial cost savings.
- Reduced Maintenance: Electric reefer units require minimal maintenance compared to traditional diesel models.
- Increased Payload Capacity: The lighter weight of electric units allows the GVFB to deliver more food on each trip.
- Remote Monitoring & Telematics: Volta Air’s Tritracker system provides the GVFB with real-time data and remote access for optimal fleet management and data analysis.
- Positive Environmental Effects: The elimination of diesel emissions contributes to cleaner air and a healthier planet.
